Volkswagen Anhui (大众安徽) launches new YuZhong 06 (与众 06) — 528 km range, limited-time prices RMB 134,900–144,900
Launch and pricing
Volkswagen Anhui (大众安徽) today unveiled an upgraded YuZhong 06 (与众 06) with a limited‑time preferential price band of RMB 134,900–144,900 for two configurations: Pure and Pure SE (priced at RMB 134,900 and RMB 144,900 respectively). The model keeps a familiar exterior but targets incremental improvements across interior, powertrain, battery and software to sharpen its appeal in China’s fiercely competitive EV market. Range is rated at 528 km under the CLTC cycle.
Specs and in‑car tech
The new YuZhong 06 measures 4,663 mm long, 1,860 mm wide and 1,617 mm tall, with a 2,766 mm wheelbase. It uses a rear‑mounted single motor producing 170 kW and 350 N·m of torque, paired with a 60 kWh battery for the stated 528 km CLTC range. Inside, the cabin is modernized with a 10.25‑inch instrument display and a 27‑inch AR HUD. It has been reported that the cockpit chipset is the MediaTek 8676 (联发科 8676) and the car runs a new VW OS with an integrated Zhipu Qingyan (智谱清言) large model for on‑board intelligence.
ADAS, comfort and optional kit
Volkswagen Anhui offers two sensing strategies: a pure‑vision suite and a LiDAR‑augmented option — the latter reportedly scheduled for deliveries later this year. The vision version includes six high‑definition cameras, one millimeter‑wave radar and 12 ultrasonic sensors, supporting highway NOA navigation assistance, point‑to‑point automatic lane changes, memory parking and a cross‑level autonomous park‑in capability up to 2 km. Other features include a panoramic camera system, standard 9‑speaker audio (upgradeable to an optional UNYX SOUND 12‑speaker Hi‑Fi system), dashcam, V2L external discharge, sport seats and dual‑layer laminated acoustic glass.
Why this matters
Why care about another mid‑market EV? Because it shows how legacy foreign brands in China are localizing not just production but software and AI capabilities to compete with nimble domestic rivals. The YuZhong 06’s emphasis on domestic chipsets and Chinese AI models comes amid wider US‑China tech tensions and supply‑chain scrutiny, which are nudging automakers toward more China‑centric sourcing and features tailored to local buyers. For consumers, the new YuZhong 06 aims to deliver established Volkswagen engineering with a feature set tuned to China’s taste — at a price point designed to win volume.
