HarmonyOS Smart Driving (鸿蒙智行) reveals full optional list for new AITO (问界) M9 — top Ultimate 领世 Extended Edition nears ¥1 million fully loaded

Full options posted on Huawei site show luxury SKU pushing prices sharply

Huawei (华为) has quietly published the optional equipment list for the new-generation AITO (问界) M9 series on its official site, lifting the veil on how expensive "fully loaded" can get. The HarmonyOS Smart Driving (鸿蒙智行) options are split across three distinct model streams — M9 Max+, M9 Ultra and the range-topping M9 Ultimate — and cover five- and six-seat layouts plus both range-extender (增程) and pure-electric powertrains, all configured as four-wheel drive.

IT Home configured the M9 Ultimate 领世加长版 in its highest specification and estimated the sticker at roughly ¥879,800; it has been reported that adding the HUAWEI ADS 5 advanced driver-assistance suite, purchase tax, insurance and other on-road costs pushes the "landing" price close to ¥1,000,000. The other two models’ top prices were listed at about ¥611,800 for the M9 Max+ and ¥749,800 for the M9 Ultra (with some Max+ options unavailable).

Strategic context — why price bands matter

Why does this matter beyond the usual luxury-SUV drama? Huawei is positioning AITO as not just a carmaker but a software-and-systems play built around HarmonyOS and its driving stack. The optional equipment reveal comes ahead of the official product launch on May 27 at 19:00, where the company will detail the new platform and user experiences. Huawei’s consumer BG head Yu Chengdong (余承东) has framed the launch as a redefinition of the segment, claiming the M9 family brings "more than 140 innovations" — a claim the company will elaborate at the event.

Geopolitics hangs in the background. Amid U.S. technology restrictions that have constrained Huawei’s access to some advanced chips, the company’s bet on vertical integration — software, cloud services and tightly coupled hardware in vehicles — is a strategic pivot to capture higher-value services and margins. It has been reported that pre-orders have exceeded 50,000 units and that a sizable share of buyers select the Ultimate 领世加长版, signaling demand for premium configurations despite the steep final pricing.
