Xianyu (闲鱼) raises "Yuxiaopu" software service fee from 0.6% to 1.6% — new rules take effect April 18
What changed
Xianyu (闲鱼) announced that its Yuxiaopu (鱼小铺) seller tool will upgrade and, alongside the upgrade, the software service fee will rise from 0.6% to 1.6% of transaction value. The change was published on April 3 and will be effective from April 18, 2026 at 00:00 — orders created after that time will be subject to the new rate. It has been reported that sellers who open the Yuxiaopu tool will no longer qualify for the platform’s broader transaction discount policies.
Why the jump?
The platform says the upgraded Yuxiaopu will bring smarter item management, more efficient seller operations and deeper data insights to help merchants run listings more professionally and with less hassle. Why the jump in fees? Partly because the company frames the extra charge as the cost of added software services. But the move also reflects a broader trend in China’s tech sector: domestic platforms are squeezing more revenue from services as growth slows and regulatory oversight tightens. Will small sellers accept lower net margins in return for convenience and tools? That decision is now in their hands.
What sellers should do
Sellers are advised to read the official notice “关于鱼小铺工具优惠政策调整及相关规则和协议修订的公示通知” or check Xianyu — My > Settings > Xianyu Convention > Latest Announcements for full details and timeline. Reportedly, the platform’s FAQ and rule updates include specifics on which transactions are covered; affected sellers should recalculate margins and consider whether to adopt the upgraded tool or remain under the previous discount framework.
