Xiaomi (小米) REDMI K90 Max packs an 8,550mAh battery and 100W instant charging
Battery and charging
Xiaomi (小米) has announced the REDMI K90 Max with a massive 8,550mAh battery and a motherboard direct power-supply feature. The company says the phone supports 100W wired "instant charging" plus 22.5W wired reverse charging, and is compatible with the 100W PPS universal fast‑charge protocol — reportedly promising "play while charging without heating." It has been reported that Xiaomi is positioning the feature set to address one of the most persistent consumer pain points: long runtimes without long charge times.
Performance and software
It has been reported that a device bearing model number 2604FRK1EC — linked in GSMA IMEI records to the REDMI K90 Max — surfaced on Geekbench with a single‑core score of 3513 and a multi‑core score of 10,711. The phone is expected to run on MediaTek (联发科) Dimensity 9500 silicon with up to 16GB of RAM and will ship with Xiaomi's HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Those specs position the K90 Max as a performance‑focused handset that nevertheless emphasizes endurance.
Cooling, durability and launch
The REDMI K90 Max is Redmi's first phone to include an internal fan, featuring a sealed airflow channel and an all‑metal bearing assembly; Xiaomi says the fan passed a 50,000‑hour aging test and will carry a six‑year warranty with lifetime cleaning service. The handset also carries IP66/IP68/IP69 dust‑and‑water ratings. Will flagship battery and active cooling become standard for mainstream phones? Xiaomi will reveal full details on April 21 as the company pushes hardware differentiation amid an increasingly competitive and geopolitically complex global smartphone market.
