Huawei (华为) Tianjitong (天际通) 'Sui Xin Yong' (随心用) adds 23 destinations; new prices take effect April 15
Expansion and price reset
Huawei’s (华为) outbound service Tianjitong (天际通) has announced an upgrade to its "Sui Xin Yong" (随心用) pay‑as‑you‑go overseas data plan, reportedly adding 23 countries and territories and expanding coverage from roughly 50 to about 70 destinations. IT之家 (IT Home) reported that the change takes effect April 15. Hong Kong and Macau will keep the promotional rate of ¥9.9/day; the other 68 countries will move from a limited‑time ¥9.9/day offer to ¥19.9/day.
Who is covered and what users get
The expanded roster includes major travel markets in Southeast Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Cambodia), major economies (Australia, the United States, Japan, South Korea), and a bloc of 36 European jurisdictions including the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, among others. In most listed markets Huawei offers 5GB high‑speed data per day at ¥19.9; a second tier of markets (including Canada, New Zealand, parts of the Middle East, India and Brazil) is set at ¥19.9/day for 2GB.
Billing, activation and user protections
Tianjitong’s "Sui Xin Yong" uses a "use first, pay later" model: 24 hours count as one billable day and days with ≤100MB used are not charged. Users can opt for automatic activation (if the plan was enabled before departure and no other package applies) or manual activation when already abroad. For multi‑country same‑day travel the system charges the lowest applicable daily rate; Huawei also applies a proportional formula to convert remaining high‑speed balance when moving between regions (for example, 1GB used of a 5GB Hong Kong threshold converts to 1.6GB against a 2GB Egypt threshold).
Why it matters
For Western readers: Huawei—once primarily known for smartphones and network gear—has been shifting emphasis toward software and travel services as hardware faces export controls and sanctions that complicate chip supplies and high‑end device rollouts. The Tianjitong adjustment is a commercial response to promote convenience for Chinese outbound travelers and to recoup margins after a promotional period. IT Home also reported that Huawei will offer limited upgrade discounts (up to ¥15 off) between April 15 and May 15, and that users who prefer older pricing can choose alternative packages.
