Honor (荣耀) sets April 23 launch for WIN gaming laptop

Launch and positioning

Honor (荣耀) has officially set a launch for its new WIN gaming laptop, with a poster confirming a product event on April 23. The announcement caps months of teasers and leaks: Honor's PC general manager Zhu Chen (朱臣才) first signalled a new gaming notebook late last year, and Honor has said the WIN will ship in 2026 and reportedly serves as the designated notebook for the Delta Operation (《三角洲行动》) professional league. Why the fuss? Honor is aiming the WIN squarely at high-end gaming buyers and e-sports teams — a step up from its mainstream MagicBook line.

Specs, leaks and design

It has been reported that the WIN has already surfaced in multiple leaks. Reportedly configurations include an Intel i7-14650HX paired with an NVIDIA RTX 5060, 16GB DDR5 and 512GB/1TB SSD options; higher-end rumors claim an Ultra9 290HX Plus CPU and RTX 5070 GPU with total system power above 250W and heavily upgraded cooling. Leaks also describe esports-focused features — a “hunter weapon library” of shortcuts, high-refresh display and touchpad quick-switch, bespoke lighting, and a 360W GaN adapter with multi-device compatibility. Design images were reportedly leaked in early April, and Honor has been seeding details to build momentum.

Market and geopolitical context

If leaks hold, the WIN will directly challenge established PC makers such as Lenovo (联想) — the leaked target named the Legion/Y9000P series — and highlights how Chinese brands are chasing performance parity with global rivals. It has been reported that Honor’s reliance on Intel and NVIDIA components underscores the broader geopolitical backdrop: semiconductor export controls and trade policy remain potential constraints for Chinese OEMs trying to source the latest chips. Honor also plans a broader April slate — refreshed 2026 MagicBook Pro 14/16 and MagicBook 14/16 models are already available for reservation — so April could mark a broader push to expand its PC portfolio. Will esports partnerships convert into market share? Honor will have to prove performance and supply at launch.
