Xiaomi (小米) launches 2026 TV S Series Mini LED — up to 100-inch, 1,920 local dimming zones, on sale April 21
Xiaomi (小米) has quietly listed a new 2026 S Series Mini LED TV lineup that stretches from 55 inches to a cavernous 100 inches and, reportedly, will go on sale April 21. It has been reported by Chinese tech site IT Home (IT之家) that the company has not yet posted official prices for the range. Big screens. Big numbers. But will that translate into big sales?
Product highlights
The new S Series touts 1,920 local dimming zones — a headline figure meant to boost contrast and HDR performance — together with a 0.5% low-reflection (LR) coating and 2,000 nits peak brightness. It supports 4K at 144Hz with a 288Hz overclock option, a Master AI picture engine, 94% DCI-P3 color coverage, and Xiaomi’s Qingshan eye-protection mode (小米青山护眼). Audio and system specs include 2.1‑channel Harman-tuned sound with Dolby Atmos, a 45W speaker, 4+64GB storage, a quad‑core A73 SoC, dual HDMI 2.1 ports plus an HDMI 2.0 port, an NFC remote, and Xiaomi’s Surging OS3 and smart connectivity stack (澎湃 OS3 / 澎湃智联).
Market and availability
Mini LED has become a key battleground for mid- and high-end TV makers in China as brands push premium HDR performance without the cost or burn risks of OLED. Xiaomi’s spec sheet positions the S Series squarely against both domestic rivals and imported sets, at a time when supply chains and component access remain affected by wider U.S.-China tech tensions and export controls — factors that shape pricing and features across the industry. It has been reported that China’s 2026 government appliance subsidy program will continue to offer discounts (IT Home notes an 8.5‑fold voucher scheme for certain digital goods, capped per-product), which could soften launch pricing for local buyers. For now, buyers can mark April 21 on the calendar; the final price and regional availability are expected to be announced closer to that date.
