Tencent (腾讯) opens invitation‑only beta for Honor of Kings World (王者荣耀世界) HarmonyOS (鸿蒙) version; PC client due April 10

Invitation‑only HarmonyOS beta

Tencent (腾讯) has begun an invitation‑only technical test for a HarmonyOS (鸿蒙) version of its new open‑world title Honor of Kings World (王者荣耀世界), it has been reported that users are receiving invites through Huawei GameCenter (华为游戏中心). The recruitment notices appear inside Huawei’s app storefront and eligible players have reportedly started receiving SMS invitations to join the limited trial.

PC client scheduled for April 10; mobile rollout follows

Tencent has already set the PC client’s official launch for April 10, and the company says the mobile edition will follow later in April. The debut hero roster for the title’s S0 season reportedly includes 元流之子, 东方曜, 西施, 蒙犽, 鲁班大师, 孙膑, 王昭君, 伽罗, 花木兰, 铠 and the original hero 冷春.

Why this matters

Why ship a HarmonyOS build first to Huawei users? Because HarmonyOS is now a major platform in China’s phone ecosystem and Huawei (华为) has been pushing native apps and services as it adapts to reduced access to some Western software and components amid U.S. export controls. A high‑profile Tencent title supporting HarmonyOS helps both companies: Tencent reaches Huawei’s large user base, and Huawei strengthens its device‑level appeal. Will Western gamers notice? Probably not directly — but for readers tracking China’s tech ecosystem, the move signals how domestic platforms and major publishers are aligning in a shifting geopolitical and trade landscape.
