Huawei (华为) HarmonyOS (鸿蒙) 6 “-1 screen” reportedly in internal test with Claw intelligent agent linkage

It has been reported that Huawei (华为)’s HarmonyOS (鸿蒙) 6 negative-one screen — the leftmost “Today” assistant panel — is undergoing internal testing and is connected to the company’s Claw intelligent agent (Claw 智能体). The test build carries version 15.0.22.210 and, according to user feedback cited by IT之家, can surface AI-driven task-completion reminders and other assistant services.

What's new in the update

The internal update reportedly adds a new “Morning Brief” that aggregates weather, schedules, deliveries and travel information into a single card so key details are visible at a glance. The search bar on the panel gains AI search capabilities that “intelligently understand” queries and return matched answers instantly — though this feature is said to require whitelist access to try. The “My” page on the negative-one panel also gains a “My Benefits” entry for tracking user entitlements and exclusive offers.

Why it matters

Huawei has pushed heavily into software and on-device AI since U.S. sanctions limited its access to advanced chips and some foreign cloud services. HarmonyOS is a strategic pillar for the company as it seeks to tie hardware, services and agent-style AI together across phones, tablets and IoT endpoints. Could Claw become Huawei’s answer to the smart assistants from Western rivals? It has been reported that these agent features are being trialed selectively; wider rollout and timing remain unclear.

Rollout appears limited for now and the test nature means features could change before public release. Observers will watch not only for user experience improvements but also for data-privacy and cross-border compliance questions as Huawei expands AI capabilities amid ongoing geopolitical scrutiny over Chinese tech firms.
