Honda launches seven new motorcycles in China, including 502cc four-cylinder CB500 SUPER FOUR from ¥42,980

Shanghai launch and the headline act

It has been reported that Honda (本田摩托车) held a product launch in Shanghai on March 27, unveiling seven new models that span a 350cc scooter line, an updated 500cc twin series and — the showstopper — a pair of 500cc inline-four machines. Prices start at ¥29,480 for the entry-level 500 twins and rise to ¥44,980 for the top four-cylinder CBR500R FOUR. Why the buzz? Four cylinders in the 500cc band are rare and aimed squarely at enthusiasts and urban riders who want sportbike character in a compact package.

Four-cylinder 500s: specs and positioning

The two four-cylinder models — CB500 SUPER FOUR (¥42,980) and CBR500R FOUR (¥44,980) — are both fitted with Honda’s new E‑Clutch electronic clutch and a newly developed 502cc inline-four water‑cooled engine. Output is quoted at 52.8 kW (~72 hp) with peak power at 11,000 rpm and peak torque of 47.1 N·m at 10,000 rpm; both models are expected to reach dealers from late April, it has been reported. The CB500 SUPER FOUR adopts a classic round‑lamp, street‑fighter look (188 kg curb weight, 14.7 L tank), while the fully‑faired CBR500R FOUR is pitched as the sportier option (189 kg, 14.2 L tank).

Updated 500 twins and 350 scooters

Honda also refreshed three 500cc twin models — CB500F, CBR500R and NX500 — with prices ranging from ¥29,480 to ¥35,480 depending on specification and whether the E‑Clutch is fitted. The updated twins use an optimized 471cc water‑cooled twin producing 36 kW and 43 N·m, and come standard with a 5‑inch Chinese‑language TFT instrument cluster, RoadSync phone mirroring, SHOWA SFF‑BP inverted front forks, dual‑channel ABS and HSTC traction control.

The 350cc scooter family (NSS350 and ADV350) receives annual updates while maintaining prior pricing: NSS350 from ¥40,880 and ADV350 from ¥42,380. Key additions include a 7‑inch full‑colour TFT screen, tyre‑pressure monitoring and 5‑stage heated grips, plus new special‑edition colours. All models are slated to reach the Chinese market in April. For global watchers, the rollout underscores how international manufacturers tailor hardware and features to China — a critical and increasingly premium market for two‑wheelers.
