Xiaomi (小米) launches late-night update: SU7 Ultra adds Twilight Rose paint + three-stage adjustable carbon-fiber rear wing

Quick take

It has been reported by IT Home (IT之家) that Xiaomi (小米) pushed a late-night option update for its SU7 Ultra, adding a new “Twilight Rose” paint and a three-stage adjustable carbon-fiber rear wing. The two options are listed as paid extras: 11,000 yuan for the paint and 12,000 yuan for the wing. Interested owners can reportedly view and order the options through the Xiaomi Auto app.

Design and performance details

Xiaomi’s marketing copy describes the Twilight Rose finish as inspired by Damascus roses at dusk, using a mix of pigments, metallic powder and pearlescent agents to produce color-shifting effects depending on viewing angle — warm red highlights in bright light, and purple-tinted dusk tones in backlight. The carbon-fiber wing is pitched as a “professional-grade” aerodynamic upgrade; the company says the SU7 Ultra’s maximum downforce rises to 176 kg and that CLTC-range increases by about 13.5–24.5 km with the wing fitted.

Why it matters

Why bother with a new color and a pricey wing? For Xiaomi, the move signals continued investment in product differentiation as more Chinese tech firms compete in electric vehicles. The SU7 Ultra updates are small, visual and performance-focused nudges to keep buyers engaged in a crowded market that includes BYD, Nio and Xpeng — and where tech-brand cars are used to shape brand identity as much as sales numbers. It has been reported that customers can check availability and fitment through Xiaomi’s app; as always, range figures are manufacturer-provided and use the CLTC cycle, which tends to be optimistic compared with some international standards.
