BlueFox (蓝狐) raises NX1 mini-phone prices by 100 yuan; entry model now 699 yuan

BlueFox (蓝狐) has announced a 100-yuan price increase across its NX1 mini phone line, pushing the new entry-level 4G+64G model to 699 yuan. The company posted the change on its official Weibo account, saying the adjustment will take effect from March 31, 2026 at 00:00, with the 8G+128G version set at 899 yuan. The move comes as BlueFox cited sustained global rises in semiconductor and storage costs as the reason for the hike.

What changed — models and specs

The price change applies to all NX1 configurations. The NX1 is a compact 4-inch handset first listed on JD last year; it uses a MediaTek Helio G81 chipset, a 1168×540 60Hz IPS LCD punch‑hole screen (rated 500 nits), and a rear single 21MP IMX230 sensor with a 5MP front camera. At 100.6×49.3×12.5mm the device targets the niche mini-phone segment. As of IT Home’s report, the JD product page reportedly still shows the previous starting price of 599 yuan (student discounts from 579 yuan), suggesting online listings may not have been synchronized with the official announcement.

Why it matters — supply chains, subsidies and consumers

Why are small phones suddenly subject to price shocks? BlueFox blamed memory and chip cost pressure. Analysts say broader market forces are also at play: tight DRAM and NAND supply, lingering pandemic-era supply-chain shifts, and export-control-driven frictions that have complicated pricing for components. It has been reported that these factors have kept component costs elevated globally. At the same time, China’s ongoing consumer electronics subsidy programs — which can offer up to 15% off certain devices and up to 500 yuan in rebates on qualifying purchases — may soften the blow for some buyers. But will subsidies fully offset component-driven hikes for budget-minded consumers? That remains to be seen.

For buyers watching every yuan, the NX1 still offers a unique pocketable form factor; for the industry, the move is a reminder that even low-end, niche devices are not insulated from global semiconductor dynamics.
